This course is recommended for adults who have an interest in footwear design and construction. No experience is necessary.

Our hands-on approach includes the use of sewing machines and hand tools.

TESTIMONIALS...
"Sarah Rotering has not only given me the resources and skills to make shoes, she has taught me about my ability to be self-sufficient at a time when mass produced items overshadow those made by hand."

"...removes the mystery behind shoemaking...Sarah's class was fun and practical. Everyone should learn to make their own shoes!"

"...Sarah is a patient, accommodating, generous teacher with wit and whimsy who helped us all make beautiful mules, with our own designs and materials, including vegetarian ones for me.

It was a great experience and I would drop

anything to take the next level she offers to teach. And I can't wait to make another pair of mules, now that I've 'got my feet wet'."
"It was an absolute thrill to learn to craft something by hand that has both poise and purpose.

This is not a course for lace doily fanatics, but if you want to learn a lost art,
bang up a couple of thumbs, and laugh it up with great people, this is the spot."
The shoes displayed on this page were handmade by Rotering's students during class! If you are interested in more information about the class or would like to register for an upcoming session, please contact Rotering Shoes
